Between the Folds

In my AMC class for school we are currently working on our origami skills. We watched a video two classes ago about proffesional origami folders. To me it was really inspiring to see how these people worked and what they came up with. Not only did it portray people who would go through complex folding and unfolding to make masterpeices, it showed people who would crumple paper and just work with it until it formed something they liked. I really thought it was amazing when one man said that he wished people could watch the process of making the piece instead of just the end result. I'd never thought of origami that way and thought that the process was just complicated and annoying but now I see that origami's beauty is really seen as its form is being born. It's a beautiful art really. I also really enjoyed when they incorportated origami into geometry. It showed that not only is this a beautiful art but you can really learn from it and discover new things that could amaze any one person. Also you can be a proffesional origamist and have other jobs and hobbies. It's not something that will just take up your time, you can work other things around it as well, and incorporate other knowledge into the origami you create.
